As I discover and experience how awesome it is to lead my own business and movement with my heart, I feel compelled to share precisely how I do it. I know first-hand how difficult life can be at times, but I also know that past experiences (positive and negative) play a massive role in shaping who we are today.
Here is a simple three-step process that has become the core foundation for my own business – Susan Robichaud International:
- Step 1 – Inspire Human Connection Through Stories
The ONLY way to connect on a human level is through a targeted, emotionally rich, well-crafted story that is authentic to an individual’s personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure she (he) has to act otherwise.
My favourite kind of storytelling is the one that pulls at the heartstrings, evokes specific emotions, and inspires meaningful action. I find it exhilarating to watch people’s motivation unfold as they absorb the meaning or lesson as they read, watch, or listen to an authentic story.
- Step 2 – Social Consciousness Through Movements
One thing that has always resonated with me is that we are spiritual beings having human experiences. These human experiences come in all shapes and forms, some good and some not so good. I believe we are all responsible for building each other up in whatever way that resonates and whenever possible.
There are opportunities everywhere to create changes in the world through positive social action. Some choose to strike against injustice with riots; I always prefer to find positive ways to send forth tiny ripples of hope from person to person, platform to platform, and through the essence of energy and courage. It’s about standing up for something that matters to us and those we interact with daily.
- Step 3 – Set Positive Change in Motion (Impact)
The impact is where the word “exhilarating” becomes real. Following these steps in sequence means crafting your unique story, then infusing social consciousness and from there, find ways to share your story with those who matter the most to your business or organization.
This process isn’t revolutionary; it has been at the heart of all cultures throughout history, forever. By sharing your story, you build stronger connections, explore the possibilities, and contribute to a better tomorrow.
Your sole responsibility as a heart-centered leader (storyteller) is to raise awareness, increase understanding, and build a community of like-minded people who will naturally want to belong to and support whatever initiative are leading.
